Student Activities

Laramie Montessori School Choir

The Laramie Montessori Choir participates in both of our school music programs and in the District Spring Sing!

Choir Information

Who can join?

Laramie Montessori Students from 2nd grade to 6th grade can join the choir. Choir practice is usually held at a different time than band and the concerts are on different days so there is no conflict if 4th grade - 6th grade students wish to participate in both.

Choir Shirts

Choir shirts are available for purchase at the beginning of the Choir. These are the shirts that our choir will wear during concerts and the Spring Sing.

Fall/Winter Production

Our music teacher, Katie Uhl, organizes and produces a Fall or Winter production every year. This production usually involves singing, instruments, and other things of interest that are taught in the general music class. The choir also performs in their own section.

Spring Sing!

The District Spring Sing! is a performance of all the choirs in the Albany County School District. This production is a wonderful show that has our choir singing by itself as well as with other schools.

Spring Production

Katie generally likes to provide a variety of concerts for the Spring Production. The concerts are similar to the Fall/Winter Production of a musical or play. The Choir performs as a part of this production as well.

Laramie Montessori School Band

Laramie Montessori School is proud to be a part of the ACSD#1 District Band! There is a rental and purchase option through ACSD#1 for students to acquire or use an instrument.

Band Information

Fall Concert:

There will be one band concert in the fall. We will let you know the time and place as soon as possible.

Spring Concert:

There will be at least one concert in the spring. We will keep you updated on the time and place.

Band T-shirts:

Band t-shirts can be ordered at the beginning of the Band.

If you have not paid for your Band Student's shirt yet it is $7.50. If purchasing the shirt is a hardship, please contact the school office or Katie immediately as there are options that can be put into place. Please let Katie know the size your child needs.

Band Class Schedule:

The schedule will be decided at the beginning of the year. Students need to have their instruments, books, and any music that has been given to them.

Practice at Home:

We cannot stress how important it is for your student to have practice time at home with their instrument. It is important to get practice time in over our long breaks as well.

Junior High Band Scheduling:

In order to schedule your 6th grade or 7th grade students for Band in the Junior High you need to know what class to register them for.

There are two similar-sounding classes:

Beginning Band - this is what our students are in this year. This class is for Band students who have never played an instrument before.

Beginning Band 1 - This is for second-year Band students, and the class that you want to choose when registering your student for Band next year at the Junior High.
